Junior Consultant - Communications & Events

JUNIOR CONSULTANT - Yukari joined the Queensland Institute Pty Ltd in January, 2022. Yukari supports QI community engagement events for the QI Global Educator Network (GenQI) and external communications. Yukari began her career as a secondary English teacher with the Tokyo Metropolitan School District, Japan, after graduating from Seikei University. She also teaches English to young learners online as a volunteer. Yukari is based in Tokyo but draws on her own experience in international education having previously studied in Australia at The University of Queensland (UQ) in 2017. It was during this time that Yukari met QI Directors, Philippa and Fiona, as her TESOL trainers. Yukari and Fiona co-presented at a Tokyo Board of Education symposium in Tokyo in 2018 and since then, Yukari has engaged in the UQ International Student Online Choir (2020), GenQI alumni events (2021), and collaborated on digital projects with HEART Global - a non-profit organisation that leads music and performance workshops all over the world. Yukari is passionate about creative approaches to language teaching and intercultural communication projects. We are delighted to welcome Yukari to our team.
