The QI team celebrate success at the Export Awards, ‘23.
The Queensland Institute (QI) was center stage at the Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards 2023 gala, a night dedicated to honoring excellence in business, innovation, and export success.
Double Delight as Finalists
The excitement was palpable as QI emerged as finalists in not one but two prestigious categories: International Education and Training, and Emerging Exporter of the Year 2023.
Our Co-founders, Philippa Coleman and Fiona Wiebusch, led the way alongside our stellar training team – Melika Stannard, Vicki Bos, and Ceara McManus - to celebrate in style. TAFE Queensland earned well-deserved recognition in the International Education and Training category, while Chronosoft secured the honor as the Australian Emerging Exporter of the Year.
Honoring Inspirational Women in Business
As 2022 Winners of the Women in International Business Award, Philippa and Fiona were thrilled to witness Dr. Chamindika Konara receive the award in 2023. Dr. Konara, the General Manager for Qlicksmart Pty Ltd, was acknowledged for her contribution to international business and commitment to local innovation and gender equality in Queensland’s biomedical sector.

A Special Gathering at Government House
Philippa and Fiona also had the privilege of joining fellow award finalists at Government House on October 17, 2023. Hosted by Her Excellency the Honourable Dr. Jeannette Young AC PSM, Governor of Queensland, and Professor Graeme Nimmo, the afternoon tea provided a unique opportunity to connect with the 43 companies nominated across 15 categories, all celebrating export success.
