Philippa is a teacher development specialist with over 40 years’ experience in English language teaching. Her experience includes teaching and teacher training in multiple contexts including Australia, Spain, China, Chile, Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Brazil, Taiwan, Republic of South Korea and the United Arab Emirates. She has worked extensively with international teachers in the areas of English language teaching, Content and Language Integrated Learning and English as a Medium of Instruction.

Philippa has considerable experience working globally with Ministries of Education, government agencies and university partners in the design of innovative, practical training programs to meet specific needs and overseeing successful program delivery. Her most recent role was Academic Manager - Teacher Training at The University of Queensland, Brisbane Australia. Philippa presents regularly at national and international conferences and represented ICTE in the delivery of offshore training workshops in Chile, Thailand, Taiwan, Mongolia and Japan.

In 2016, Philippa initiated and delivered a voluntary teaching project in Medellin, Colombia. She worked in a disadvantaged community, teaching young people communication skills, including English language, for giving walking tours of their local neighbourhood to English-speaking visitors. This project is still ongoing, now managed by Primed Community, Medellin.

In her leisure time, Philippa enjoys gardening, cycling and collecting ceramics from around the world.
