Tim Magoffin

Education Consultant, Education Technology Specialist

Tim is an education technology specialist with 25 years' experience in English language teaching. Tim has taught in Australia, Japan, and South Africa, where he delivered an ESP (English for Specific Purposes) course for the Australia Awards for Africa program, funded by Australian Aid. During his time at the University of Queensland’s Institute for Continuing and TESOL Education, Tim played a role in the development of the tech systems and tools for the edX MOOC, IELTSx, which has had more than 1.2million enrolments. He also was also involved in training and instructional design support for a wide range of courses including, Bridging English, Pharmacy, Legal Studies and Engineering. Tim now works as a Principal Learning Designer for the UQ Institute for Teaching and Learning on the Digital Uplift program. Tim is also a qualified free-diving Instructor in Queensland and loves spending time underwater.
