Celebrating Achievements of our QI Community

23 July 2024 I The Queensland Institute

Philippa Coleman (far right) completed Coastrek ‘24

We are thrilled to congratulate two outstanding members of The Queensland Institute family on their recent accomplishments!

Philippa Coleman Conquers the 30km Coastrek Challenge

A huge shoutout to our Co-Founder, Philippa Coleman, who completed the iconic Australian hiking challenge, the 30km Coastrek walk from Mudjimba to Noosa on the Sunshine Coast on Friday, 19 July. It was the perfect day with beautiful winter sunshine, a glistening sea, low-tide beaches, and scenic coastal paths. Philippa and her all-women team trained together from March and raised over $3,380 for Women's Heart Health and the Heart Foundation. What an inspiring achievement for a wonderful cause. You are all definitely "Wild Women on Top!"

Sato Furukawa Shines in the Gold Coast Marathon

We proudly recognise one of our alumni, Sato Furukawa from the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education, who completed the 42km Gold Coast Marathon on Saturday 6 July. Known as "Australia's premier road race," the Gold Coast Marathon has been held annually since 1979. Sato achieved his personal best time and enjoyed visiting his ‘second home’ in Queensland with his wife Akemi. QI Co-Founder, Fiona Wiebusch QI, was there to greet them at the finish line.

Inspiring Stories from Our Community

Congratulations to both Philippa and Sato for their remarkable accomplishments! We celebrate these stories as they inspire others to strive for their own goals, both professionally and personally. We feel very proud to celebrate our vibrant education community and showcase Queensland as a premier study destination.
