Cristina Daniela Ojeda Ortega

Cristina joined the Queensland Institute Pty Ltd team in December, 2021 after completing her Master of Applied Linguistics (TESOL) at The University of Queensland. Cristina supports QI communications and community engagement events for the QI Global Educator Network (GenQI). Cristina began her career as a secondary English teacher at Instituto Ingles Antuquenu located in Puerto Montt, Chile, after graduating from San Sebastian University. Cristina has been living in Brisbane since 2020 and also draws on her own experience in international education, having previously studied education at the University of California - Davis in The United States and The University of Queensland (UQ). During her studies in Brisbane, Cristina engaged with QI Directors, Philippa and Fiona, as her TESOL mentors and participated in GenQI events. She was also a committee member in the UQ Staff Student Partnerships project in Language Testing & Assessment for the School of Languages and Cultures. In addition to her work with QI, Cristina works at DXC Technology, a global IT and data systems company in Brisbane. Cristina is passionate about languages, learning about different cultures and using education technology in the language classroom.
