The QI team are proud to have been selected to present at the 18th Annual Conference on English Language Teaching in Cambodia (CamTESOL), to be held LIVE online from 18th-20th February, 2022.
“The 17th Annual CamTESOL conference was held virtually in 2021 and welcomed over 2,500 delegates from more than 40 countries globally, with 600 live presentations across 21 streams successfully delivered over the course of 3 days.”
QI Director, Fiona Wiebusch, and QI Consultant, Vicki Bos from Teaching In Harmony, together with Tanja Hafenstein from the University of Queensland, will co-present a 45-minute LIVE session on Saturday 19 February, titled,
‘Motivating learners through music and movement in the virtual language classroom.’
This interactive workshop session focuses on how music and movement help to motivate learners to participate in open class activities and enhance language learning outcomes, especially in the virtual classroom. The presenters will demonstrate activities that are designed with early-career teachers in mind and that are directly transferable to the physical classroom.
The QI team have a long association with the CamTESOL conference. In fact, next year’s presentation marks the 10th anniversary at CamTESOL for QI Director, Fiona Wiebusch, who first presented at the conference in 2012.
Ms Wiebusch has been a regular speaker, attendee and sponsor every year since.
“It’s always such a joy to work with early career teachers in Cambodia, many of whom attend from remote areas across the country.” Ms Wiebusch said.
“In my experience, Cambodian teachers are incredibly committed to professional development. They love exchanging ideas and practical activities for the English-language classroom so our workshop time together is always lots of fun.”

”CamTESOL is a great way to kick off my own professional development each year, by re-connecting with friends and colleagues from the global ELT community,” Ms Wiebusch added.
“Conference Manager, Mr. Visal Sou, and the entire CamTESOL team, manage the conference so beautifully. I’d really encourage others to attend.”
The QI team are looking forward to sharing more from their session after the CamTESOL conference concludes on 20 February 2022.
A recording of the session is now available from English Australia TV (below).
