Celebrating 50 Years of Collaboration: ASEAN Summit Overview

We are thrilled to share that our co-Founder, Fiona Wiebusch QI, had the honour of attending the Australia-ASEAN Special Summit in Melbourne this week, representing The Queensland Institute at the SME Business Marketplace. It was a privilege to participate alongside 14 other Queensland businesses at the SME conference, where The Hon. Anthony Albanese, MP Prime Minister of Australia, emphasised the significance of strengthening collaborative partnerships with our ASEAN neighbours.

Key Insights from the Australia-Vietnam Business Forum

A highlight of the event was our attendance at the Australia-Vietnam Business Forum at RMIT University with His Excellency, Phạm Minh Chính, Prime Minister of Vietnam. Discussions around the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Australia and Vietnam, focusing on climate change, digital transformation, defence, trade, and education, were particularly encouraging.

Empowering Global Educators: Our Commitment to ASEAN Partnerships

Our key takeaway from this incredible experience was the recognition of future opportunities for education institutions. Looking ahead, there's immense potential for innovation, especially in embracing digital education and skills-based training, and sharing experiences to enhance relationships and learning between our nations.

Over the past three years, we've dedicated ourselves to supporting educators in ASEAN, in #Vietnam, #Malaysia, and #Myanmar thus far. Our programmes have provided high-quality, accessible teacher professional development in English-language education across both school and higher education sectors.

At The Queensland Institute, we're committed to driving innovation in teacher education and fostering meaningful connections across borders, ensuring sustainable and equitable access to teacher training and professional development. Stay tuned as we continue empowering global educators in English language education alongside our ASEAN colleagues.
